Caltrans 'Raise 80' Project Plants Drought Resistant Landscaping

17th Nov 2015

LOOMIS – Starting in November, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be contracting with landscape crews to begin the installation of native California plants on the embankments of the overcrossings raised for the Interstate 80 vertical clearance project – “Raise 80”. Drought resistant shrubs and trees will be planted on the slopes surrounding the Brace, Horseshoe Bar, King, Penryn, and Gilardi Road bridge structures. The plantings will replace trees removed to facilitate the lifting of those bridges.
