Western States Endurance Run – 2016

23rd Jun 2016

Cheer on the runners in the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run on Saturday, June 25 @ 7:00 pm!

The Western States ® 100-Mile Endurance Run is the world’s oldest and most prestigious 100-mile trail race. Starting in Squaw Valley, California near the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics and ending 100.2 miles later in Auburn, California, Western States, in the decades since its inception in 1974, has come to represent one of the ultimate endurance tests in the world.

Spectators: Head over to the Placer High School track to watch the excitement surrounding the top runners finishing their epic journey beginning around 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016! Then return on Sunday morning to cheer on the runners trying to make the 30-hour “official finish” cut off (11:00 a.m.). Awards Ceremony is at noon.

The Placer County Visitors Bureau is hosting a Beer Garden across the street from the track at Toyonda from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016! The Auburn Ale House will be serving beer, Old Town Pizza will be serving Pizza, Maria’s Taco Truck will be there and we’ll hopefully have live music.

Visit the Auburn Endurance Capital tent located near the finish line (6/25/16, 7:00 – 10 p.m.; 6/26/16, 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.) and pick up your free Auburn area trail map!
