Changes to Westbound Interstate 80 Beginning July 25 in North Sacramento

With construction nearing completion on eastbound Interstate 80 in North Sacramento, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has launched a plan aimed at expediting westbound work for the 80 Across the Top project.

Starting Saturday, July 25, westbound traffic from Longview Drive to Northgate Boulevard will be reconfigured to carry two express lanes (using the eastbound HOV lane and shoulder) and one local access lane. The change in traffic lanes will run from Longview Drive to Northgate Boulevard.

At the same time, the current eastbound express lane between West El Camino and Northgate will remain to allow crews to continue construction activity on that stretch of freeway.
