The beautiful, historic city of Auburn has been hosting a rodeo for over 50 years. And the tradition continues. The Gold Country Pro Rodeo is co-produced by Cotton Rosser/Flying U Rodeo Company and EzEvents, Inc. Cotton Rosser has been producing professional rodeos since 1959.

The rodeo is held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, California, in the stadium named after Vernon McCann. McCann, (1900-1978) was an Auburn native who lived his entire life promoting and protecting the city of Auburn. He was the business manager for the Auburn Journal, brought the district fair (Gold Country Fair) to Auburn, was instrumental in bringing Highway 49 to Auburn, and was active the Auburn Fire Department for 50 years.
