National Safety Month: Safety On The Road
23rd Jun 2015
Safety on the Road
Driving is a privilege that comes with a shared responsibility of safety. In 2011 alone, motor vehicle crashes claimed more than 35,000 lives.
What are the leading concerns? According to Injury Facts 2015, the Council’s annual report on unintentional injuries, the three biggest causes of fatalities on the road include:
- Alcohol (30.8%)
- Speeding (30%)
- Distracted driving (26%)
Some of these fatalities involved people who drive for a living. NSC offers many options for driver safety training for employees who are on the roads day in and day out.
