Raise 80 UPDATE: King Road Overcrossing

1st Jun 2015

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that Interstate 80 will be closed overnight in both directions in south Placer County as crews raise the King Road Overcrossing.

Motorists can expect an eight-mile detour during the closure, scheduled to start at 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 and end at approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 3. The Interstate will close again from 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, until approximately 5 a.m. Thursday June 4 for the “Raise80” project, which is increasing the vertical clearance of nine freeway overcrossings on Interstate 80 in south Placer County. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time for the detour.
