Caltrans is increasing the vertical clearance on eastbound Interstate 80 under the Weimar Cross Road overcrossing to the federally required 16 feet, 6 inches by excavating the roadbed and surrounding areas. (Westbound I-80 clearance already meets requirements.) There are lane closures affecting traffic on eastbound I-80 through Friday May 1, and again from Sunday May 10 through Friday May 22 as crews work around the clock to complete the work as quickly as possible. Construction during these times will produce noise from trucks hauling away excavated material. Local residents’ patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

I-80 Eastbound on and off ramps at Weimar Cross will be closed from7 PM Sunday, April 19 through Friday, May 22for drainage and prep work.

Lowering the freeway to achieve vertical clearance: I-80 at Weimar Cross Road Interchange will be restricted to one lane in the eastbound direction for ¾ of a mile. Westbound I-80 traffic will not be affected.
